To me, music is energy, atmosphere, and emotion.
A soundscape that transforms what you feel and lets you get lost in it. It touches the core of your emotions and expands them at will.
That's the foundation of every AMAWA set.
The lights, the vibrations, the highs, the dancing, these are the moments we love to remember for how they made us feel. The first time I stepped foot into a rave, that same second it became clear that this is something I want to be part of. Creating them.
At 16 years old, I started working backstage at the Loveparade, Biosphere and at the legendary Gazometer raves in Vienna, the defining event that put techno on the map in Austria, watching Carl Cox, Sven Väth, Dj Rush, Chris Liebing, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer and many more move millions of people with music and exceptional mixing skills. I followed these role models as best I could to get anywhere close to that level. That intent shaped everything that followed.
With several guest appearances at the Donauinselfest (Europe's largest open-air festival), Volksgarten and Passage (Vienna's most iconic clubs), and later at venues like the Vienna City Beach Club, i started DJing around 1999.
I was moving crowds, but I wanted to create something deeper, my own sound. So I stepped back to evolve. To learn to produce music that resonates and feels true.
What unfolded was 12 years on the road, from founding the first boat parties on the Black Sea, headlining Bulgaria's first boat party series, from beach clubs across Europe, Africa and the Middle East to resort stages in Tenerife, the Dominican Republic and Dubai, from Pacha Sharm El Sheikh to co-founding Oceanbeat Ibiza and playing as its resident DJ, one of the island's biggest boat party concepts to this day
All of these experiences now flow into an evolved and matured sound, a new and unique musical experience called AMAWA, deeply influenced by multicultural rhythms and rooted in underground Afro House. Forward-facing sets that capture what summer really is: positive energy, dance in the sand, sun-kissed warmth, freedom and love.
